Pilates is a safe, effective exercise programme which can benefit a wide variety of people from elite athletes and regular exercisers to older adults, pre and post natal women and those rehabilitating an injury.
Pilates can be used to improve posture and balance, increase fitness and wellbeing and relieve back, shoulder and neck pain.
Pilates exercises teach awareness of breath and encourage correct alignment of the spine by strengthening the deep torso and abdominal muscles.
Jackie Leon Sysum is a former professional acrobat and highly experienced teacher. She trained with the Pilates Foundation in London and is qualified in all areas of matwork instruction. Jackie has been teaching at West Bridgford Tennis Club since 2010 and now runs several classes a week during school term times and during school holidays. Private daytime sessions are also available.
