How to Get Started

Adult Tennis At West Bridgford – Getting Started

This is a page describing how to get started playing adult tennis at West Bridgford Tennis Club.

If you don’t know anybody at the club it can be a bit confusing so hopefully this page will give new members and prospective members a few ideas on how to join the fun.

Here are a few ways you could get started.

Adult Beginners And Returning PlayersGroup CoachingWhy not try one of our weekly group coaching sessions? It can be a bit intimidating to have a go when you are a beginner or a bit rusty.Group coaching sessions are a good way to meet players of similar ability and get an introduction to what the club has got offer.  All standards welcome.   Cartoon Player
Each session lasts an hour and it gives new and rusty players a chance to begin playing and moreimportantly get an introduction to other new players.   One of our coaches will guide you through the basics and put you with players of a similar standard. You don’t have to be a member to put your name down for the group sessions. Each group runs for approximately 12 weeks. Click Here For More Info If these guys can do it – anybody can!

Just turn up and ask behind the bar for an introduction or say hello to one of the social players often found sitting on the patio waiting for the next switch round.Numbers vary from session to session but you can usually expect a minimum of 10 social players of all ages and abilities to attend.  One of the big strengths of the social sessions is that somebody always turns out to play unless there is a flood, hurricane or blizzard.Saturday – 1.30pm – 4pm Outdoors, Sunday – 1.30pm – 4pm Outdoors, Tuesday – 6.30pm – 9.30pm Outdoors, Tuesday – 12:30 – 2:30pm Winter Indoors, Summer Outdoors

Social players organise themselves and try to get a fair mix of standards.  They swap around after each set.

You could try a couple of social sessions as a non-member by paying a visitors fee of £5 on entry.

Simply sign in behind the bar and ask for directions to try ‘Social Tennis’.
